When I did a good deed as a child my mother sometimes said I’d get a jewel in my crown in heaven.
Forty-some years later and I’m thinking a crown is just a burden that I don’t want in heaven. When I die, all I want is to rest in His glory. I don’t want elevation or the responsibility of a big, heavy, bejeweled crown. A soft nightgown and fluffiness on a cloud is good enough for me.
The jewels I have in my life today are so much better than royalty. Quiet surrender of self to be a vessel for God’s love for us.
Jewels like this message I received from one of the youth in town:

Google “Mass readings for 10/25/26” And while you’re at it, read 10/26/26 as well.
